CM Punk returned in Chicago to replace Cody Rhodes.

The July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw concluded at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. In the opening moments, Gunther attacked Cody Rhodes, who was gearing up for the Undisputed title rematch against the newly crowned Champion Sami Zayn.

This attack forced him out of the match as he failed to get medical clearance. While GM Adam Pearce was looking for Cody’s replacement, GM Nick Aldis, who was in the building despite his administrative leave, just like Gunther, managed to save the main event and secure the opponent.

CM Punk turned out to be the surprise opponent as the Second City Saint returned for the first time since April to defeat Zayn, ending his title reign at just 9 days to become the new Undisputed Champion.

After being absent from the July 6 edition in Chicago, both the World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are confirmed to appear on next week’s Raw. Reigns is set to defend the title against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, and Rollins cut a scathing promo in Chicago, and now it’s time for the OTC to respond.

On the other hand, Lesnar’s opponent, Oba Femi, confronted Paul Heyman, stating that the upcoming clash at SummerSlam would mark the final chapter of Lesnar’s career. Fans are now waiting to see how Lesnar responds next week.

Meanwhile, a gauntlet match next week will determine the new number one contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Dragon Lee, Rusev, Ethan Page, Dominik Mysterio, Je’Von Evans, Joe Hendry, and Chad Gable are set to compete, with the winner earning a championship match against Penta at SummerSlam.

Furthermore, Bayley responded to the betrayal at the hands of Lyra Valkyria and challenged Lyra to meet her face-to-face next week.

Additionally, after aiding Sol Ruca against the Judgment Day and taking out Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, Iyo Sky will battle Roxanne Perez in singles action on the July 13 show. This match comes in the backdrop of Iyo’s showdown with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan at SummerSlam.

The July 13 edition of WWE Raw is set to emanate live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The episode will serve as the go-home show for the July 18 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
