WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

Seth Rollins & company

Paul Heyman grabbed the mic, introducing the “players.” He began by hyping up Bron Breakker as a key to the future, someone who would headline WrestleMania 45, 46, and beyond. He moved on to Reed, but the arena filled with loud “CM Punk” chants. Heyman smirked and revealed that CM Punk wasn’t there that night, crediting Reed for the chaos.

He praised Reed, claiming that by attacking Seth Rollins, Reed had carved a path for himself in a company that hadn’t given him a fair shot. Heyman continued, urging the crowd to thank Rollins for the sacrifice he made, stating that Rollins’ actions ensured a brighter future for the industry. With that, he introduced Rollins as “The Visionary,” “The Architect,” and “The Future of the Industry,” asking the crowd to acknowledge Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

The arena exploded with “OTC” chants as Heyman handed the mic to Rollins. The “We want Roman” chants grew louder. Rollins cut in, claiming that securing the industry’s future meant taking total control. “You sold out” chants followed, and Seth scoffed, asking who he sold out to, himself?

The boos intensified, but Rollins wasn’t fazed. He called the crowd morons, pointing out how they were singing his song just moments ago, yet now they wanted to chant profanity at him. Heyman, ever the strategist, led the crowd into another round of singing Rollins’ theme, further infuriating The Visionary.

Rollins seethed, declaring that he was the only one capable of leading the company. He was the one who wielded the true power, and that power came from titles. He reminisced about his near victory, only for CM Punk and Sami Zayn to ruin his chances. He reminded the fans that Punk had learned the hard way not to underestimate him and warned that Sami Zayn would discover the same fate that night.

Rollins announced that he would qualify for Money in the Bank and win the contract, claiming that he’d cash in “whenever he wanted, on whomever he wanted.” With that, he declared that nobody would stop him because that was what true power looked like, which is why he is SETH ‘FREAKIN’ ROLLINS.”

Chad Gable vs Dragon Lee vs Penta – men’s MITB Qualifying triple-threat match

In the first match of the show, Chad Gable, Dragon Lee, and Penta battled in the first of the two announced Money in the Bank Qualifying matches for the men’s MITB ladder match. Gable performed better than expected against the two luchadores but couldn’t help himself as he attacked El Hijo Vikingo, who was in the crowd.

The two stars are set to battle at Worlds Collide 2025, the attack later cost him as Gable climbs uptop only to eat a vicious kick from Vikingo who steps on the apron, the kick costs Gable as Penta capitalizes taking out Lee with a Mexican destroyer followed by the Penta driver on Gable to win the match and secure the third spot in the ladder match.

Backstage

The scene shifted to the Judgment Day locker room, where Finn Balor focused on his upcoming MITB qualifying match. Dominik Mysterio and Carlito were busy playing WWE 2K25 when Roxanne Perez entered, holding chicken nuggets for Dirty Dom and offering to massage his shoulder.

Suddenly, the crowd erupted as Liv Morgan made her appearance. She caught sight of Roxanne, who tried to introduce herself, but Liv cut her off. Dominik attempted to explain, but Morgan revealed she had been kept updated on the situation by Raquel Rodriguez.

Liv stated that she would handle things later, but for now, she was going to speak with General Manager Adam Pearce to secure her a MITB Qualifying match. Liv and Raquel left as Dominik, smiling, commented that it was great to have Liv back, and Finn Balor, looking eerily pleased, agreed. Carlito, ever the voice of caution, advised Dominik not to eat the nuggets Roxanne had brought.

Akira Tozawa vs Rusev

As demanded by Akira Tozawa himself, he battled Rusev to teach him a lesson for terrorizing his faction, the Alpha Academy. However, he failed miserably in the task as he was put to sleep with the accolade in mere minutes.

However, Rusev refused to let go of the hold, despite Tozawa tapping out. This sequence brought out Sheamus, who came in to aid Akira and confront Rusev, who backed off and retreated backstage.

Sami Zayn expressed that he couldn’t handle listening to Seth Rollins’ comments earlier in the show and almost did something about it. Jey Uso was by his side, reminding Sami that it would have been four-on-one, advising him to focus on his qualifying match tonight. Jey assured Zayn that if anything went down, he’d have his back. The two stars shared an embrace before Jey walked off

New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs American Made (Julius & Brutus Creed) vs War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) – Triple threat match for the World Tag Team title

The New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) defend the World Tag Team title in a triple-threat match against the American Made (Julius & Brutus Creed) and War Raiders (Erik & Ivar). The Champions teamed up with American Made to target the War Raiders who took a beating.

However, the loyalty wasn’t rewarded by the New Day as, after a gruelling clash between the three teams, as Julius took out Ivar with a flying kick on the top rope, but Woods capitalized, rolling Julius up and holding him by his shorts to make the pin and retain the title.

Backstage

Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez bumped into Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky, who was accompanied by Kairi Sane. Liv took the opportunity to mock them, asking if this was a Damage CTRL reunion. Iyo shot back, telling Liv to keep walking.

But Liv, confident, stated that she would cash in on Iyo after winning the MITB contract. Kairi Sane, clearly fed up, suggested a match between Liv and herself later that night. Liv agreed with the idea before walking off, leaving the tension hanging in the air.

Jey Uso – Gunther

Jey recapped the events from Saturday Night’s Main Event and then reminded everyone that at Money in the Bank, it would be him alongside Cody… but here came Gunther! The Ring General picked up the mic to congratulate Jey on the Usos’ fifteen-year anniversary in WWE and also on his title defense against Logan Paul on Saturday.

Gunther stated that Jey had held on to the title longer than he expected, then praised him for being there for his friend, calling it a great quality for a human being but a terrible one for a great champion. The Ring General said that being a champion didn’t come naturally to Jey, and that he was only able to be a champion for almost a year because he cared about others, unlike Jey.

Gunther then cut a promo for their title clash in Phoenix, saying he would choke him out and take the title back where it belonged, on his waist. Jey asked if Gunther was done, revealing that he was done with everyone doubting him. He had friends and family who fought for him, and he fought for them.

The champion blasted Gunther, saying that what he was fighting for was more than what Gunther was fighting for. He knew what Gunther was capable of, but at the end of the day, he was fighting for the fans’ support. Jey then stated that he would make Gunther tap out again in Phoenix. The champion left as Gunther looked furious.

Liv Morgan vs Kairi Sane

In her return, Liv Morgan battled Kairi Sane, the match was set following their backstage interaction. This was Sane’s first singles match since her return last week, where she battled in a losing effort in the MITB Qualifying match. The two women put on a great match as the crowd loved both women back in action.

In the final moments of the match, when it looked like after surviving a flurry from Liv, Sane is going for the finish, Roxanne Perez appeared and shoved Kairi from the ropes while Rauqel Rodriguez, who was ringside, distracted the official. Morgan tried to capitalize and went for the oblivion but Sane reversed it into a cover, defeating Morgan, who looked furious, as Perez claimed innocence and Raquel consoled her.

Rhea Ripley’s promo aired, where she hyped up the upcoming women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. She declared that she would cement herself at the top of the women’s division, before warning Iyo Sky and Tiffany Stratton that no one was safe from “Mami.”

Backstage

Chad Gable was backstage with the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile, berating the Creed Brothers for their loss. He then turned to Ivy, asking her to prepare them in case they got another shot.

Gable ran into El Hijo Del Vikingo and immediately went off on him, cutting a promo for their upcoming battle at Worlds Collide 2025. Vikingo fired back, telling Gable to “see him soon.” As Vikingo left, Gable turned around, only to eat a big shot from AJ Styles, who warned him not to interfere in his match again.

Backstage

We were in Judgment Day’s locker room, but there were audio issues as Liv Morgan argued with Roxanne Perez. Finn Balor interrupted as the audio came back in, pointing out that Dominik Mysterio might tell what happened out there, asking if he had seen it. Mysterio agreed as he went on to explain, but Rodriguez chimed in.

Raquel Rodriguez stated that if Roxanne hadn’t interrupted, she would have won. Liv Morgan fired back, saying that Raquel, being the veteran, should have known better. Liv then left, with Dominik following after her as Balor looked amused.

Lyra Valkyria – Becky Lynch

The Women’s Intercontinental Champion stepped into the ring and stated that she wanted a new contender, but Becky Lynch pulled some strings backstage to earn herself another match against her at Money in the Bank 2025.

Lyra then explained why she accepted the match, saying that no matter the bad blood she has with anyone, once she defeats them, it’s over. However, with Becky, she was still irked by her behavior, especially after Becky acted like she won the match at Backlash.

Lyra blasted Becky for getting in her fiancée’s face and attacking her eye and arms during the match. She went to cut a promo, but Becky Lynch made her entrance. Lynch fired back, saying that Lyra made it personal as she was ready to leave everything behind, but Lyra cost her the MITB qualifying match. The two stars exchanged personal blows over their respective partners.

The war of words continued as Lynch said that if Lyra beats her at MITB, she would never come after the title again. Lyra accepted the challenge before reminding Becky that she defeated her at Backlash with her eyes closed.

Becky shot back, saying she wasn’t finished and that Lyra would have to look her in the eye and raise her hands if she wins at MITB, just like Lyra did when she defeated Becky for the NXT title. Lyra responded, saying that she never had a problem raising someone’s hand who was better than ever, but it had never been the case with Becky.

Backstage

Sami Zayn was backstage when he ran into Karrion Kross, who remarked that Sami could have accepted the offer to go to SmackDown and fight for the title.

Zayn replied, saying he had no time for Kross’ mind games and tried to leave. Kross, however, added that Zayn would never win the title. Zayn took a step back, telling Kross that he would deal with him later before walking off.

Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins – men’s MITB Qualifying triple-threat match

Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins battled in the second triple-threat qualifying match for the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match of the show to secure the fourth spot. The veterans were given the main event spot for the battle as they delivered on the match, pushing each other to the limit.

The animosity between Zayn and Rollins also took centre stage, which on multiple occasions helped Balor, but he was unable to secure the pin. In the closing moments of the match, Zayn and Rollins exchanged shots in the middle of the ring, as Zayn landed an exploder into the ring post and went for the finish, but suddenly Finn appeared, landing the sling blade, and driving both men into the corner with a drop kick.

Balor went top for the Coup de Grâce, but landed on the mat as both men ducked. Rollins capitalized and landed a stomp, taking out Balor, but Zayn followed up with a Helluva Kick to Rollins, to make the pin. However, Bron Breakker appeared, pulling the referee out of the ring and starting to batter Zayn alongside Bronson Reed

Just as things were looking grim, Jey Uso ran in to help Zayn, but the numbers game took over. Breakker speared Jey. Dominik Mysterio then appeared near the ring, throwing a steel chair inside. Balor went to grab the chair, but it was thrown poorly by Mysterio. Rollins took advantage, hitting Balor with a stomp right onto the steel chair to pick up the win and advance in the match.

Seth Rollins instructed Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed to bring Jey and Sami into the ring, likely for further humiliation. But just as they were about to follow orders, CM Punk’s music hit, sending Reed and Breakker running towards the entrance ramp to confront him.

Punk, however, slid into the ring from behind and delivered a GTS to Rollins, taking him out cold. Reed and Breakker rushed back into the ring, but Punk cleverly retreated through the barricade, soaking in the crowd’s reaction as he flaunted in the stands. The show ended with Punk standing tall, leaving chaos in his wake.
