Insiders upset with Seth Rollins’ injury ruse

According to a recent report from PWInsider, “a lot of people who work behind the scenes for the company, as well as talents who are in-ring performers” are upset over how Seth Rollins’ injury situation was handled, as they feel they were misled.

Rollins made his return during the final moments of Night 1 of SummerSlam and revealed that his injury was just a ruse. Rollins then attacked CM Punk, who had just defeated Gunther to win the World Heavyweight title. What followed was Rollins cashing in the MITB contract and pinning Punk to capture the title.

Update on Naomi

PWInsider Elite reports that Naomi was indeed backstage at WWE Raw in Quebec earlier in the day, so her match being removed wasn’t due to her absence from the event.

The report added that, whatever the reason for the change, it was kept very discreet and not shared with other talents.

Reacting to the rumors of Naomi’s pregnancy, Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live stated that if the rumors are true, Naomi could be out for a long, long time.

“There is definitely a rumor going around in WWE about what’s going on with Naomi, and like it’s being talked about by people there, and if it is, in fact, what’s going on, she is going to be out for a long, long time.”

Asuka’s heel turn

As per PWInsider, Asuka’s heel turn was initially set to develop gradually over the coming weeks. However, after WWE had to adjust RAW plans due to Naomi being pulled from the show, they chose to accelerate the storyline.

On this week’s show of WWE RAW, Iyo Sky confronted the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) backstage, furious with them for getting involved in her match against Roxanne Perez. Asuka shoved Iyo Sky before walking away, with Kairi Sane hesitating for a moment before chasing after her.

John Cena filming a new movie & Tyler Bate’s appearance backstage

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, John Cena and comedian Eric Andre have been filming their new movie, Little Brother, in New Jersey over the past week.

Johnson also reports that Tyler Bate was backstage at Raw last night, and he’s trimmed his hair and is back to his original look.
