Triple H reportedly wasn’t a fan of Tony D’Angelo’s old gimmick

Tony D’Angelo has been one of NXT’s most recognisable names over the past five years, but he has yet to make the jump to WWE main roster. A new report has offered a possible explanation, suggesting that Triple H was not particularly impressed with D’Angelo’s original mafia-inspired character.

According to Self Made Pro, as reported by Ringside News, one of the main reasons behind D’Angelo’s prolonged NXT run was Triple H’s reported reservations about the character. The report specifically referred to the mafia gimmick and the elements associated with it.

D’Angelo initially gained attention through a character built around an Italian-American crime-family persona. The presentation included associates, a hierarchical family structure, and storylines that leaned into organised-crime tropes. Over time, however, his character developed beyond the original concept, becoming a prominent member of the NXT roster and eventually reaching the NXT Championship picture.

D’Angelo has previously expressed ambitions to reach Raw or SmackDown and eventually become WWE Champion. His continued presence in NXT has therefore fuelled speculation about when he might finally receive that opportunity. If the report is accurate, the evolution of his character could be an important factor in determining how WWE views his potential fit on the main roster.

Bron Breakker and Roxanne Perez were reportedly the original Money in the Bank winners

WWE reportedly changed its original plans for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches, with Bron Breakker and Roxanne Perez initially expected to win their respective contests.

According to a report from Flase Finish, the company had considered Breakker and Perez for the briefcase victories before ultimately going in a different direction. Penta won the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, while Tiffany Stratton emerged victorious in the women’s contest. The reported original plans have not been officially confirmed by WWE.

Odds backed Perez and Breakker as original winners. While both stars delivered breathtaking performances, they fell short of the ultimate prize.

WWE changes PR firm for UK communications

WWE has appointed a new public relations agency to handle its communications in the United Kingdom, according to a report by Fightful. The development marks a change in the company’s communications arrangements ahead of its upcoming live events in Britain.

The Romans P.R. Agency had managed WWE’s UK communications since 2020. Following six years of working with the wrestling promotion, the agency’s partnership has now come to an end.

London-based Ready10 will take over the role, handling communications connected to WWE’s UK live-event schedule. Its upcoming responsibilities include Monday Night Raw in Glasgow, Scotland, on January 18, 2027, and Friday Night SmackDown in Manchester, England, on January 22, 2027.

The appointment is nevertheless notable given WWE’s international touring schedule and the importance of promoting its live events across different markets. Ready10 will now be responsible for supporting communications around the company’s upcoming shows in the UK.

Who won WWE Money in the Bank ladder matches?

Tiffany Stratton and Penta recorded wins in the Money in the Bank Ladder matches in the Women’s and men’s divisions, respectively.

When is the next WWE PLE after Money in the Bank?

After Money in the Bank, the next WWE PLE would be Crown Jewel, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh on November 7.
