NXT and AEW Dynamite set for head-to-head clash on November 4

WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite are set to go head-to-head on Wednesday, November 4, following a scheduling change caused by election coverage in the United States. NXT normally airs on Tuesday nights, but The CW’s plans for midterm election coverage have prompted the developmental brand to move its episode to Wednesday.

According to reports from Fightful, the change will put NXT directly opposite AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts. It will be the first time the two shows have gone head-to-head on a Wednesday night since 2021.

The timing creates an interesting challenge for both promotions, particularly as AEW’s Blood & Guts special is expected to draw attention with its high-profile team-based matches. NXT’s episode will follow Halloween Havoc, scheduled for October 31, giving the promotion an opportunity to carry momentum from the special into the unusual Wednesday broadcast.

Although the clash appears to be the result of a television scheduling change rather than deliberate counter-programming, it will offer an interesting comparison between the two brands’ audiences.

WWE reportedly considering a return for the Sin Cara character

A possible return of Sin Cara could be on the cards for WWE, as reports claim that the company has been considering bringing back the character to its roster.

Reports suggest that the Stamford-based promotion is exploring the possibility of resurrecting the gimmick through early ideas that would involve a new wrestler to assume the guise of the gimmick. The gimmick has not been seen in the program since 2019, when the company let go of the wrestler wearing it.

Sin Cara was introduced in WWE in 2011, when the gimmick was worn by the Mexican star Mistico. Once Mistico left the company, the character role was taken up by Hunico and later teamed with Kalisto as Lucha Dragons.

The character’s return could help the program present some luchas libre-style wrestling again while adding a masked performer to its roster.

Backstage chatter reportedly points to Rey Mysterio’s retirement in 2027

Rey Mysterio, who is a WWE Hall of Famer, may be closing out his in-ring career because of the backstage conversations that seem to suggest that he might retire in 2027.

As per the information from WrestleVotes, there has been some “backstage chatter” in WWE about the possibility of Mysterio retiring next year. It was also mentioned that WWE is working on how the idea of his retirement can be presented but no plan has been put forward yet.

It is surprising that these rumors are being talked about given that in an interview last month, Mysterio revealed that he was not sure about his retirement plans because he was loving the current schedule. He said that he would “wing it” and would not make any plans to retire. The 48-year-old wrestler is still wrestling for WWE and is also seen as the on-air general manager of AAA.

For now, all this is just talk as it cannot be confirmed whether the rumors will come true or not.

Nikki Bella reportedly impressing WWE with social media numbers

Apparently, Nikki Bella is impressing everyone backstage, owing to her social media engagement and merchandise sales being beyond the company’s expectations.

Based on WrestleVotes Radio of Fightful, the officials are pleased with the digital engagement of Bella over the last few weeks. In addition, her merchandise has been doing better than expected, which could make her more likely to appear on television.

Bella is a Hall of Famer and the previous Divas Champion, who has returned to the action at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Even though she was sidelined owing to an injury earlier this year, she is still being featured in the storyline in spite of that.

The continued presence of Bella both off and on-screen, coupled with her loyal fan base, seems to be helping her stay relevant within the current lineup. Moreover, she will also be challenging Chelsea Green on the October 30th episode of SmackDown.

WWE planning a five-on-five WarGames match at Survivor Series 2026

WWE is apparently going to go for a five-on-five set-up for the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2026, possibly further complicating the feud between The Bloodline and The 946.

This development comes from Fightful, who cites WrestleVotes Radio and states that, as of Monday, the plan was for there to be five men on each team. This comes after the four-on-four showdown between the two groups on the October 19 episode of RAW.

The Bloodline is made up of Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa, while The 946 consists of Royce Keys, Carmelo Hayes, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price. In the five-on-five set-up, this would still leave an extra spot free for both teams, presuming these are the main men involved in the factions.

Notably, Jacob Fatu on the Bloodline side is absent from programming since being run down by Jaida Parker on Raw. The extra spots may be significant as the story continues to develop in the coming weeks until Survivor Series. However, the report is about the format.

WarGames has become a major feature of Survivor Series in recent years, with its enclosed double-ring structure allowing rivalries to culminate in large-scale team battles. The reported five-on-five setup suggests WWE is preparing to continue that tradition, although the final participants and any additional surprises remain unknown.

When will Survivor Series 2026 take place?

The Survivor Series 2026 is scheduled for November. The complete match card and official WarGames lineups have yet to be confirmed.

Is Rey Mysterio retiring in 2027?

There is reportedly backstage discussion about a potential retirement in 2027, but Mysterio has not announced a retirement date, and the promotion has not confirmed plans for his farewell.
