However, according to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the Second City Saint was previously discussed for Money in the Bank, but his status for the October 10 PLE remains uncertain as of now.
Creative plans for Seth Rollins
‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins has been absent from WWE programming since losing to Roman Reigns in the World Heavyweight title clash at SummerSlam. Despite appearances during WWE’s South American tour, he remains absent from programming.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select now reports that Rollins was considered for an appearance at the upcoming Money in the Bank at one point. However, those plans now appear to have been scrapped, with WWE said to be waiting for the right opportunity to bring him back to television.
While there is currently no indication of when Rollins will return to WWE programming, he is still being advertised for upcoming live events and is listed among the featured stars for the promotion’s upcoming tour of Hawaii.
Roman Reigns-Penta rematch
A source within WWE creative told WrestleVotes that the company’s plans have undergone a major change following the strong reception to Roman Reigns vs Penta title clash on Raw in Mexico City.
Initially, the promotion viewed the world title bout as a one-time match. However, after seeing the impressive viewership numbers and strong merchandise sales for Penta, the company now appears to be considering a rematch between the two.
WrestleVotee also reports that several members of the creative team currently see Penta as the “heavy favorite” to win this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
According to the report, this direction was not part of the promotion plans as recently as SummerSlam, where Penta lost the Intercontinental title to Chad Gable. However, as noted, the strong response to Penta’s match against Roman has likely influenced the company’s plans.
Vince McMahon stepping down from TKO
According to details revealed in Executive chairman of TKO Ari Emanuel’s new book, Stephanie McMahon was the person who convinced her father, Vince McMahon, to resign amid public scrutiny due to the Janel Grant lawsuit.
Dave Meltzer discussed the revelation on Wrestling Observer Radio while examining Emanuel’s account of the events that unfolded behind the scenes following Grant’s lawsuit. Meltzer noted that Stephanie’s involvement had been privately known; however, Emanuel’s book appears to be the first time the detail has been made public.
“Okay. Well, I mean, it was. It was interesting how he framed the whole deal. He did the one thing that. That he did do that. I mean, we all knew it, but he.
He actually said it was that, you know, when Vince resigned. That the person who talked him into resigning was in fact Stephanie, which we all knew, but it had never been said publicly.”
