Sami Zayn’s second title reign begins on WWE SmackDown.
After last week’s show in Mexico City, Friday Night SmackDown returns to the United States with the September 18 show. The Hilliard Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, will host tonight’s edition, featuring the return of Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes will make his first appearance since losing to Randy Orton in the WrestleMania 42 rematch at Sunday Night’s Main Event two weeks ago. Michael Cole is scheduled to conduct a sit-down interview with the former WWE World Champion tonight.
On the other hand, the newly crowned Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn, who defeated CM Punk last week to regain the title and kick off his second World title reign, is set to appear tonight. With the controversial match finish involving Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, fans can expect a chaotic segment.
The qualifying matches for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank, which kicked off on last Monday’s Raw, will continue on tonight. Two spots in both matches have been filled on the past two editions of Raw, and tonight stars from the Blue brand will get the chance to secure the third spot.
Tonight, Tatum Paxley, Jade Cargill and Jacy Jayne will battle in a triple threat match. The competitors will look to secure the third spot in the women’s MITB match.
