Toronto played host to a major edition of SmackDown.
The August 21 edition of WWE SmackDown from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, delivered a massive sold-out show, featuring title matches and debuts. Speaking of debuts, Blake Monroe attacked Giulia before their scheduled match and called out Chelsea Green.
The match never happened, and Monroe made it clear that she will make her in-ring debut against the Champion. On the other hand, Baron Corbin challenged Lil Yachty at SNME, noting that if Yachty lasts 5 minutes with him, Trick Williams will get a US title rematch.
Furthermore, after multiple teases, Kyoki (fka Hiromu Takahashi) debuted via video package alongside Shinsuke Nakamura. The main event saw Sami Zayn initially trying to help Kevin Owens defeat CM Punk and win the Undisputed title.
However, when KO refused to use dirty tactics, Sami instead betrayed Owens, which helped Punk pick up the win. Zayn launched a brutal post-match attack on both men to close out the show.
Next week’s SmackDown will be pre-taped
