This week’s SmackDown emanates from Bologna, Italy.

Friday Night SmackDown will broadcast live from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy, on Friday, June 5, as part of WWE’s ongoing European Summer Tour.

This is the second consecutive week that the blue brand emanates from overseas, and it follows a monumental week of action that included both Clash in Italy and the fallout edition of Raw from Turin.

Featured WWE Superstars listed for the show include Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Rhea Ripley, Trick Williams, Gunther, Sami Zayn, Damian Priest & R-Truth, Solo Sikoa and the MFTs, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and many more.

With the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments now underway, this episode of SmackDown is expected to feature first-round tournament matches, in addition to fallout from Clash in Italy. Let us now take a look at the full and detailed preview for this week’s WWE SmackDown, including timings and telecast details.

  • King of the Ring tournament first-round match – Jey Uso vs La Knight vs Royce Keys vs Finn Bálor
  • Queen of the Ring tournament first-round match – Jade Cargill vs Sol Ruca vs Lyra Valkyria vs Charlotte Flair
  • Clash in Italy fallout
  • Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Trick Williams, Gunther, Sami Zayn, Jade Cargill, Brie Bella, Paige & Solo Sikoa are listed as featured superstars

King & Queen of the Ring Tournament Continues

The 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will run from June 1 to June 27, 2026, with matches held between wrestlers from the Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The respective tournaments will conclude at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 27, 2026.

Both tournaments kicked off on the June 1 edition of Monday Night Raw, with the first round consisting of four Fatal Four-Way matches. The SmackDown episode in Bologna is expected to continue that momentum with its own batch of first-round clashes.

On the men’s side, the Jey Uso vs LA Knight vs Royce Keys vs Finn Bálor Fatal Four-Way is among the SmackDown-branded first-round King of the Ring matches.

Notably, Finn Balor was officially traded from Raw to SmackDown but remains part of the King of the Ring tournament and will compete in his previously announced first-round match against Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Royce Keys.

On the women’s side, the Jade Cargill vs Sol Ruca vs Lyra Valkyria vs Charlotte Flair Fatal Four-Way is one of the Queen of the Ring first-round matches on the SmackDown side of the bracket.

The winners of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will earn world title opportunities at WWE SummerSlam, similar to how the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber format works regarding WrestleMania.

Clash in Italy Fallout

Cody Rhodes defeated Gunther to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship, and Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Italy.

A major development from the Raw fallout saw Jacob Fatu officially acknowledge Roman Reigns following his loss in Tribal Combat. Fatu dropped to one knee and acknowledged the Original Tribal Chief, who embraced him in return. The segment concluded with Reigns, Fatu, and The Usos standing together as the reformed Bloodline raised “The Ones” gesture.

SmackDown in Bologna is expected to address the aftermath of these title matches and further developments in SmackDown-brand storylines heading toward Night of Champions on June 27.
