The historic first Premium Live Event (PLE) in Italy, Clash in Italy, concluded last weekend in Turin. WWE delivered the fallout edition of Raw this past Monday and then addressed the fallout on the Friday Night SmackDown brand, which emanated early for fans outside the U.S.
The fallout edition of the Blue brand aired live from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy. Notably, this was the final SmackDown show of this leg of the European tour, as WWE will return to the U.S. next week before heading back to Europe for live events and TV shows ahead of Night of Champions in late June.
The 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournament, which kicked off on Raw this past Monday, continued with two first-round matches. WWE also addressed the fallout from the Clash in Italy, which saw Cody Rhodes defeat Gunther to retain the title, while Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the title.

A brawl to begin the show in Bologna

- Gunther appeared during the opening moments, cutting off the broadcast and creating mayhem, ripping off both the announce desks, before picking up the mic to state that nothing will happen tonight until he gets justice for what happened at Clash in Italy. Gunther claimed Cody Rhodes cheated to win. Cody Rhodes then appeared, as Gunther continued jogging around on the announce desk.
- Rhodes stepped into the ring, acknowledging that Gunther was right, his foot was under the rope, but asked if he really didn’t have any controversial finishes in his career. Cody suggested a rematch to Gunther, right in Bologna. AND Sami Zayn arrived.
- Sami blasted Gunther and his complaints. Zayn complained that both of them wronged him, but Gunther asked him to shut up, as the Championship didn’t concern me. Sami reminded Gunther that he had beaten him. Cody said he’s preoccupied, and Sami complained about their friendship and Cody’s neglect. Sami pointed out that he might be the biggest threat to Cody’s reign.
- The two argued about settling things as Gunther attacked Cody, locking in the sleeper, but this time, Sami saved Cody, attacking Gunther, Cody joined in, and the brawl escalated ringside, with Cody taking a dive and Gunther shoving Sami in Cody’s way. Gunther escaped as Cody tried to apologize, offering a hand, but Sami left him hanging.
- Backstage, The Miz argued on the phone with Kit Wilson about being stuck in customs. The Miz discovered Danhausen stealing electricity once again for his experiments. Miz entered the lab to take care of it, as Danhausen appeared, telling Miz not to touch his things. Miz started touching things, despite Danhausen’s reluctance, and was electrocuted.
- Backstage, Gunther complained to GM Nick Aldis about not being treated with respect since his arrival on SmackDown. Gunther warned him about getting his legal team involved.
- QOTR first-round match – Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Jacy Jayne vs Kiana James (Winner will face Iyo Sky): Raquel Rodriguez delivered the Tahana Bomb on Kiana James to secure the win and advance to the semi-finals. The communication breakdown between James and Giulia continued after the match as James shoved Giulia, who lost her cool and attacked James.
- Backstage, Sami Zayn found Johnny Gargano and complained about things blowing back in his face with Cody, and now Nick Aldis wanted to talk to him. Aldis arrived, asking him to stay out of Cody-Gunther’s business. Sami complained, and Aldis stated that he had someone important to meet, who turned out to be Chad Gable, the “ORIGINAL” El Grande Americano, who appeared to a massive pop.
- Royce Keys vs Talla Tonga: Tonga slammed Keys with a chokeslam to pick up the win, after major assistance from Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, who attacked Keys after the match. R-Truth rushed in for the save, but fell prey to the numbers game, until Damian Priest arrived and pulled Truth away from the ring. Tonga then delivered the cut throat on Keys, and Solo offered him to join the family once again.
- Backstage, the Judgement Day discussed Roxanne Perez’s whereabouts as Raquel Rodriguez arrived, and Liv once again insisted that she and Dominik will win the tournament. Rorgiuez once again looked baffled, but Liv shifted the focus to help Dominik win the first round match, later in the show.
- A promo aired hyping up Finn Balor’s accomplishments and hyping his involvement in the first round of the 2026 King of the Ring tournament match next week on Raw.
- Damian Priest and R-Truth argued about Priest not saving Keys. Priest said that he wants to focus on the tag team titles. Truth tried to check on Keys, but Priest reminded him he wasn’t a doctor. Truth said his brother is a Doctor, the Doctor of Thuganomics (John Cena). AAA Tag Team Champions War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) walked in, challenging Truth and Priest for the title. Truth said he didn’t know them and left.
- Rhea Ripley arrived, and Michael Cole revealed that Ripley is dealing with a knee injury in her right leg after the Clash in Italy match against Jade Cargill. Ripley said that she finally put the Jade chapter behind her, then pointed to her injured knee and mentioned a friend helping her to fight the numbers game.
- Charlotte Flair arrived, stating that while Rhea didn’t ask for her help, but she had her back because she respects her. Flair then mentioned the Queen of the Ring tournament, putting Rhea on notice, stating that at SummerSlam, she is coming for Rhea, because Ripley has something she wants.
- Tiffany Stratton then arrived, and Flair asked if Tiffany was here to apologize. Stratton stated that she is here for Rhea, and while she has the US title, she wants the Women’s title as well. Jade Cargill then arrived, alongside Michin and B-Fab. Cargill stated that Flair didn’t save Rhea; she did make herself a target, mentioning what happened to Alexa Bliss.
- Jade then asked Tiffany to stay out of grown folks’ business and told Rhea to enjoy her title, as she is coming after it right now. GM Nick Aldis arrived, noting that Rhea is not cleared to compete, as Flair floated the idea of teaming up with Tiffany to face two of them right now. Aldis made it official: Jade & Michin vs Flair & Tiffany.
- Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill & Michin: Jade Cargill picked up the win for her team, after delivering the Jaded and pinning Tiffany Stratton.
- Backstage, Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid & Fallon Henley) attacked the Women’s Tag Team titles Paige and Brie Bella.
- Backstage, Royce Keys and R-Truth talked about teaming up to take down the MFTs, but Keys expressed his trust issues with Damian Priest, especially after he didn’t save him earlier in the show. However, Keys noted that he and Truth are good.
- Carmelo Hayes vs Ricky Saints: Ricky jumped Hayes before the bell rang. Hayes managed to recover, but Saints picked up the win via roll-up after holding up Hayes tights to get the three count.
- Backstage, Trick Williams hyped up his King of the Ring tournament first-round match as Bron Breakker arrived and had a brief face-off with Williams.
- In another segment, Chelsea Green questioned Tiffany Stratton, saying she could have offered backup against Jade & co. Stratton replied that she didn’t think it was necessary, while Green insisted she needed Stratton at ringside for her match against Lash Legend, but Stratton said she had to visit the trainer’s room and left.
- A Blake Monroe vignette aired, where she mentioned Tiffany Stratton, sending a warning shot to the WWE Women’s US Champion. ‘Blake Monroe Coming Soon’ graphic aired, despite her debut during the backstage segment with Chelsea Green.
- Chelsea Green vs Lash Legend: Lash pinned Green after countering an Unprettier to deliver the Lash Extension.
- Backstage, Solo Sikoa arrived, pointing to Royce Keys, how Jacob Fatu had to kneel in front of Roman Reigns, and he is the only family left for Keys if he wants to survive. Solo reminded Keys that while Fatu or Roman or anyone else made the call, he did, as he brought up Jacob and Tama, and made them Champions because they listened to him. Solo once again asked Keys to reconsider or else.
- During the commercials, Danhausen arrived to accuse Wade Barrett of being behind the Miz breaking into his lab. He also noted that Miz destroyed some personal heirlooms.
- Backstage, Rey Fenix informed Fraxiom that they can get a shot at his AAA Cruiserweight title whenever they want. Chad Gable arrived to talk to Fenix, and he apologized for disrespecting the art of Lucha Libre with his El Grande Americano antics. Fenix stated that Gable now understands the culture and he forgave him, but reminded him that he isn’t the only one whom Gable offended.
- Backstage, Nick Aldis asked Cody Rhodes if the rematch offer was still on the table. Aldis stated that Gunther will accept the rematch on one condition: Gunther wants them to wait till next week to reveal the condition. Cody stated that if they have to wait till next, it means they should do the tile rematch in Kansas City (June 19), & he doesn’t want to wait any further and will do the rematch 2 weeks from now.
- (Main Event) KOTR first-round match – Dominik Mysterio vs Bron Breakker vs Trick Williams vs Damian Priest: In the closing moments, Bron Breakker took out Trick Williams with a flying clothesline through the announce desk, while Dominik tried to capitalize on Damian Priest, who fought back as JD McDonagh attacked and ate a Chokeslam for his troubles.
- Liv Morgan delivered a low blow on Priest as Mysterio delivered 619, followed by the frog splash to win the match and advance into the semi-finals, and he will have to battle Oba Femi. Mysterio stated that Femi’s days are numbered now.
