The popularity of WWE superstars is closely linked to their merchandise sales
In the world of professional wrestling, merchandise sales are a strong indicator of a superstar’s popularity and their ability to connect with fans. WWE has recently revealed its list of top merchandise sellers in 2024.
The Stanford-based promotion’s top merchandise sellers are often its biggest names and the 2024 list is a testament to that. Let us now look at the top five superstars with the highest mech sales in 2024.
5. ‘The G.O.A.T’ John Cena
Despite his recent endeavors outside the ring and his part-time involvement in the promotion, John Cena still remains in the hearts of pro wrestling fans. The 16-time world champion is in the fifth position on the list this year.
Cena’s merch has become a collectable item for pro wrestling fans. The 16-time champion has ruled the merch sales list during his prime. In recent times he has only appeared in the promotion a couple of times.
The GOAT of pro wrestling has announced his plans to retire from the sport as he embarks on his retirement tour next year. The WrestleMania 41 will be the last WrestleMania for the former merch sales leader. The return of the GOAT will be an exciting moment to witness as Cena embarks on his retirement tour.

4. ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso
‘Main Event’ Jey Uso has seen a meteoric rise in recent times since he parted ways with his brother Jimmy Uso. Jey also bagged his first singles career title last month against Bron Breakker when he defeated Breakker to bag the Intercontinental Title.
However, Jey lost the IC title less than a month into his reign in a rematch against Breakker due to interference from Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline. He is now set to face the rogue Bloodline at Survivor Series alongside the OG faction.
Jey’s catchphrase “Yeet” has seen immense popularity among fans which is reflected in the merchandise sales figure. Jey’s entrance on shows and PLEs and the fans’ reception is also the marker of the immense success he has achieved since the start of his singles career.
3. CM Punk
The Second City Saint, CM Punk has been away from the squared ring since his last battle against Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood 2024 PLE. Punk is now scheduled to make his in-ring return at the upcoming live event of the promotion on December 26 at Madison Square Garden.
The 2024 edition of Survivor Series will mark one year since The Second City Saint made his return to the Stamford-based promotion after a nine-year hiatus. Despite his absence, Punk’s popularity never took a hit as he still is amongst the top three in merchandise sales.
The Second City Saint is also topping the list despite being outside the title picture. The storyline involving his bracelet featuring the names of his wife and dog, AJ Lee and Larry became the focal point of his rivalry against McIntyre.
The feud between Punk and McIntyre is rated as one of the best feuds in the current year. The bracelet’s role in the uber-popular storyline also opened up a new marketing opportunity for the Stamford-based promotion.

2. Roman Reigns
‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns has transformed himself into one of the biggest stars of his generation since his days as ‘The Big Dog’. The Tribal Chief storyline worked wonders for the former multi-time champion and pushed him into the mainstream becoming the face of the company in the process.
Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that Reigns is at the second spot on the list when it comes to merchandise sales. Reigns’ multiple nicknames in the promotion and its popularity have also helped the sales figures.
Despite Reigns’ four-month absence following his loss at WrestleMania 40 against Cody Rhodes, he is still at the second when it comes to sales. The defeat broke Reigns’ 1,316 days reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion. The reign was one of the most dominant in the history.
1. Cody Rhodes
‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes is the leader when it comes to merchandise sales in the WWE for 2024. Following his victory against Reigns at Wrestlemania this year, Rhodes has not only taken the OTC’s title but also his spot at the top.
The Undisputed WWE Champion has become the face of the company since his return in 2022 after parting ways with the AEW. Being the face of the company and a darling among the younger generation helped the champion in the sales.
Rhodes is also the top babyface of the company currently and historically young kids have gravitated towards such characters as they despise the villains.
Since returning to the WWE, Cody Rhodes has captivated audiences with his incredible journey and passion. His merch, particularly items featuring the ‘American Nightmare’ logo has connected deeply with fans.
Apart from the top five, the list also features five more stars who are in the top ten when it comes to merch sales. The Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is at the sixth spot, and her fierce rival Rhea Ripley currently holds the seventh spot in merch sales.
In addition to the two stars, US Champion LA Knight, Randy Orton, and Damian Priest rank eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively, in merchandise sales for 2024.
