The transfer window was introduced ahead of the Raw Netflix debut
Ahead of the historic debut of Monday Night Raw on Netflix, WWE introduced the transfer window which as they stated can be used by stars to switch brands. Since its introduction multiple stars have switched brands.
Without waiting for an official draft the transfer window was used by the Stamford-based promotion to shift stars from Raw to SmackDown or vice versa. This has been utilized to give multiple stars a new start and fresh storylines.
The shift has also shaken things up in the tag team picture as a few teams have switched brands in order to get new opportunities. While the transfer window has been a lowkey affair with most star shake-ups in the mid-card. Few top stars have switched brands which would do wonders for the storylines in the coming months.
The Stamford-based promotion has not clarified much about the transfer window, however, one thing is clear the transfer window in WWE is similar to the one we see in football with one major difference, there is no exchange of funds for a superstar to change brands.
During the 01/27 episode of Raw, Michael Cole on the commentary provided a major update regarding the transfer window as he revealed that the transfer window will close over the Royal Rumble weekend.

- Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy & Nikki Cross)
- Damian Priest

Zelina Vega has switched brands as Michael Cole during the clash between Rey Mysterio and Xavier Woods announced that the 01/27 episode of the Red brand is the last show for Vega as she will be switching to SmackDown.
The latest star to switch brands is AJ Styles who made his long-awaited return in the men’s Royal Rumble match on February 1. On the 02/03 episode of Monday Night Raw, General Manager Adam Pearce revealed that the Phenomenal One has joined the Red brand.
Similar to Damian Priest, Bayley, and Braun Strowman the switch will boost these stars’ careers and give them new storylines against unfamiliar opponents.
Ahead of the 02/07 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, it was announced by General Manager Nick Aldis that Drew McIntyre has been moved to the Blue brand. During the show, McIntyre detailed his decision to use the transfer window and move to SmackDown.
