The 39th edition of SummerSlam kicked off on Saturday, August 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The promotion followed the Saturday edition with the Night 2 (Sunday) edition from the same venue.
Night 2 featured major triumphant title victories, a massive return that altered the World title scene on SmackDown, and a jaw-dropping main event where Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins not only delivered a blockbuster match but also paid tribute to their Shield brother, Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley in AEW).

Finn Balor vs Sami Zayn vs Gunther vs Kevin Owens – Fatal four-way No. 1 Contender’s match for the Undisputed WWE title
After being reinstated last night, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis appeared after Finn Balor and Sami Zayn’s entrance to announce that the match is now a fatal four-way involving Gunther and a returning Kevin Owens.
The Prizefighter returned for the first time since April 2025 and pinned Sami Zayn to win the match and become the number one contender for the Undisputed title. Owens has now secured a shot at the reigning Champion CM Punk.
Winner: Kevin Owens

Trick Williams (c) vs Baron Corbin – United States title match
After multiple attacks, Baron Corbin, who made his in-ring return at SummerSlam, battled Trick Williams for the United States title. Lil Yachty was ringside during the match and even got involved after Corbin attacked him ringside.
Yachty once again made his presence felt when Corbin tried to bring the title into the ring. However, the sequence ended in Yachty crashing through a table ringside as Williams attacked Corbin, who was holding Yachty by the collar. Corbin capitalized, whipping Williams with the title, followed by End of Days to become the United States Champion once again.

Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill vs Charlotte Flair vs Chelsea Green vs Lash Legend – Interim WWE Women’s title Ladder match
Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green and Lash Legend competed in a ladder match where the Interim WWE Women’s title was up for grabs in the absence of reigning Champion Rhea Ripley, who remains out of action due to a knee injury at Clash in Italy.
Chelsea Green won the match to capture her first World title in the WWE, after years of being counted out, and even gave a shoutout to Michael Hayes on the post-show.
The WWE Producer who claimed on WWE Unreal that Green wasn’t good enough to be a main event player and was a supporting act for the company’s big stars.

Danhausen vs Dominik Mysterio – Human Monies on a Pole match
The fourth match of Night 2 saw Danhausen and Dominik Mysterio battle in a Human Monies on a Pole match. JD McDonagh got involved in the match, leading to Minihausens making the save for the very nice, very evil star.
However, McDonagh’s continued interference halted Danhausen’s momentum until Joe Hendry arrived to blast McDonagh with a guitar. Danhausen then cursed Dominik as he was about to unlatch the Human Monies from the pole. Danhausen then climbed the post to retrieve the bag and win the match.

Penta (c) vs Chad Gable – Intercontinental title match
The co-main event of Sunday saw WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta defend the title against the number one contender and Minneapolis’ own Chad Gable. The hometown hero had to fight through adversity after he tweaked his shoulder.
Gable fought through pain in a physically demanding match before locking in the Ankle Lock, forcing Penta to tap out. With the win, Gable captured his first singles title on the main roster.

Roman Reigns (c) vs Seth Rollins – World Heavyweight title match
The main event saw World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns battle his former Shield brother Seth Rollins in a blockbuster showdown, with both men pushing each other to the limit. The final chapter in the feud even saw both men pay homage to their Shield brother, Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley in AEW).
In the end, Reigns delivered three back-to-back spears to pin Rollins and retain the title. With the win, he equalled the head-to-head record at 5-5-1. Post-match, in a moment of mutual respect, the two set aside their differences to pose for the cameras, signalling the end of the iconic chapter.
