The former World Heavyweight Champion is once again facing severe backlash online.

‘Main Event’ Jey Uso outlasted 19 other stars in the main event of the October 20 episode of Monday Night Raw to win the World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders Battle Royal.

This win has now secured his spot against CM Punk in the vacant World Heavyweight title clash at the November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The title match was set after GM Adam Pearce stripped Seth Rollins of the title due to a shoulder injury, which forced him out of action.

Jey is determined to win the title back and has gone to great lengths for it. He even eliminated his brother Jimmy Uso, despite the latter saving him from elimination moments before. However, this is not the reason Jey is getting severe fan backlash online.

The video of Jey Uso winning the battle royal has received a flood of dislikes

As usual, WWE uploaded the video of Jey Uso winning the battle royal and facing off with CM Punk to end the show. Fans upset with the outcome responded to the video, which has now accumulated significantly more dislikes than likes.

As of the writing of this article, Jey winning the match has amassed 583K views, but when you take a closer look, the like-to-dislike ratio explains the backlash, as the video has accumulated 62k dislikes as opposed to 13k likes.

The main reason for the backlash stems from multiple reasons. Punk won the triple-threat match on the October 13 show by pinning Jey, and WWE opted for Jey to win the battle royal has irked fans.

Many fans have also voiced their opinion that other stars who deserve a shot at the title have been overlooked. One of the prime candidates, per fans, was LA Knight, who even has an ongoing animosity with Punk, and the two even shared a brief argument before the battle royal, with Punk stating that he hopes Knight wins.

Fans have been vocal for Knight to get a well-deserved World title run, while other fans who have already rejected the idea of putting the World title on Jey are speaking out. Jey winning the Royal Rumble also had a similar reaction from fans.

It remains to be seen who walks out of Saturday Night’s Main Event with the World Heavyweight title and if fans are open to the idea of Jey’s second title reign.

Who won the battle royal on the October 20, 2025, episode of WWE Raw?

Jey Uso outlasted everyone to win the World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders Battle Royal. He is now set to face CM Punk for the vacant title at SNME on November 1.

When and where will the November 1, 2025, edition of SNME take place?

The upcoming November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to emanate from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
