Elena Rybakina won the WTA Stuttgart Open last week.

World no. #4 women’s singles player, Elena Rybakina is all set to face her next opponent, Mayar Sherif at the Madrid Open 2024 in the Round of 32 on Sunday. She had a positive start to the tournament as she entered the Round of 32 by defeating Lucia Bronzetti in the previous round in 6-4, 6-3 sets.

Sherif’s campaign started with a win in the Round of 128 by defeating Lauren Davis by 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-4 sets. She then went on to secure a win against Marta Kostyuk in 6-2, 7-5 sets to cement her position in the next round of the event.

Elena Rybakina entered the Madrid Open with a title win at the Stuttgart Open on April 21, by defeating Marta Kostyuk in the final. She also grabbed the runners-up position at the Miami Open, last month.

The Kazakh started the 2024 season by winning the Brisbane Open in January. Although her campaign at Australian Open ended in the second round, she made a strong comeback at the Abu Dhabi Open by again winning the title. With another runners up finish at the Qatar Open and a quarter-final finish at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Rybakina has been in her best form in the ongoing season.
