Star archer Abhishek Verma makes his return in stage 3 of the World Cup.
Archery World Cup Stage 3 will take place in Medellin, Colombia from 13 to 18 June. After a disappointing Recurve campaign in Stage 2 where India failed to win a single medal, Indian Archers would look to perform in Stage 3. While there will be strong hope from the compound team to deliver again, recurve archers would also want to step up and would look to qualify for the Archery World Cup Finals which will be held later in Mexico in September.
India finished stage 2 winning three Medals (gold - 2 and 1 bronze - 1) all in Compound category. Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Pravin Ojas Deotale won back-to-back gold in the Compound Mixed Team. Prathamesh clinched the gold in Men’s Individual category after defeating Mike Schloesser in the finals, while Avneet Kaur won the bronze.
China and Korea haven’t sent their compound teams to the Archery World Cup 2023 Stage 3. However, there will be tough competition from Colombian Team who were missing in Stage 2. Archery World Cup or the Archery World Cup finals have no say over an individual’s or a team’s qualification to the Paris Olympics 2024.
