Asian Archery Championships 2023: Schedule, fixtures, result, live streaming details

The competition offers Olympic quota places.
The Asian Archery Championships 2023 is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand from 4 November to 9 November. Inaugural edition took place in 1980 in Kolkata, India and till 1999 only recurve archery was part of the competition. Later on in 2021, Compound Archery was added and since then both recurve and compound archery have been held concurrently. India has hosted the championships twice once in Kolkata in 1980 and the other in Delhi in 2005.
In the current edition, the Indian team is set to feature has two world champions in the form of Aditi Gopichand Swami and Pravin Ojas Deotale.
The compound team had recently swept all the five gold medals in the recently concluded Asian Games 2023 and would like to replicate the same form here in Bangkok, Thailand. The recurve team would like to up their performance with Olympic quotas on offer.
Top side across both genders secure quota in team events while the finalists in individual category is assured of quotas. However, there is no mixed team quota at the Asian archery championships 2023.

India at the Asian Archery Championships 2023
In the last edition, India had won seven medals (gold – one, silver – four and bronze – two). Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the gold medal in the women’s compound individual category, while experienced Abhishek Verma, compound mixed team, men’s and women’s recurve team settled for silver. The bronze medals were won by compound men’s team and recurve mixed team.
This time, India is sending a strong 16-member team for the Asian Archery Championships 2023. Tokyo Olympian Pravin Jadhav and Tarundeep Rai are back in the squad after being left out from the recently concluded Asian Games 2023. With the veteran Atanu Das and new young sensation Dhiraj Bommadevara, the Indian recurve men’s team is looking much experienced.
The women’s recurve team is the weakest link for Indian archery. Meanwhile, the compound team has made two changes. The federation has fielded two new players in Priyansh and Prathamesh Balachandra Fuge.
