The title battle looks likely to head to a photo-finish as the last two gameweeks approach.

Liverpool maintained their chase of the table-toppers Manchester City with a thrilling 5-0 win over relegated Huddersfield. However, Manchester City continued their fine run with another gritty win away from home against Burnley. Arsenal succumbed to a fighting Leicester due to an early red card for Ainsley Maitland-Niles while West Ham pulled off the surprise of the week by beating Tottenham at their new stadium. The match of the week between Manchester United and Chelsea ended in a stalemate after Marcos Alonso cancelled out Juan Mata’s opener for the Red Devils.

Gameweek 36 Review

A highly rewarding week for the team. Captain Andrew Robertson led the pack with 28 points while Callum Wilson got 16 points. Sadio Mane got two goals against Huddersfield which gave him 13 points this week. Aymeric Laporte and Aaron-Wan Bissaka got 9 points each for their clean sheets while Aguero got 9 points for his goal for Manchester City against Burnley. Raul Jimenez got 7 points while Alisson Becker got 6 points for his clan sheet. Ryan Fraser’s assist to Callum Wilson against Southampton gave him 5 points. Paul Pogba and Matt Doherty ended with two points each.

Gameweek 37 Transfers

Nathan Redmond is a potential transfer candidate. The Southampton winger, however, has looked sharp for the last few games and can fetch points, despite playing for a relegation-threatened side. He can be replaced by the likes of Gerard Deulofeu or James McArthur.

However, the team looks sharp enough for the next week and no transfers are made.

The team lines up in a 3-4-3. Fabianski starts in goal, with Brazilian Alisson moving to the bench. In defence Crystal Palace player of the year Aaron- Wan Bissaka starts and is supported by Aymeric Laporte and Matt Doherty. Andrew Robertson and Ricardo Pereira move to the bench. Felipe Anderson starts with Paul Pogba, Sadio Mane and Ryan Fraser with Nathan Redmond benched. In attack Sergio Aguero and Callum Wilson start with captain Raul Jimenez. Felipe Anderson is made vice-captain.

A stern Bournemouth test awaits Tottenham while Liverpool visit St. James’ Park to take on Newcastle. Chelsea will look to secure their top four spot with victory against Watford while Arsenal and Manchester United will aim to oust them  with good performances against Brighton and Huddersfield respectively. Manchester City will welcome Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester knowing that a victory against them would push them closer to their second consecutive title.
