With the result, the Gaurs climbed to the second spot in the league standings.

ATK played out an entertaining 0-0 draw against FC Goa at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Wednesday. The hosts continue their impressive defensive record and became the first side to keep a clean-sheet against the Gaurs. Sergio Lobera's men will feel robbed not to get a penalty and with it three points, but nonetheless move into second place with their point.

Watch: ATK 0-0 FC Goa highlights

Here are our player ratings for the game.

ATK

Arindam Bhattacharya- 6.5

Arindam put in a good shift

The ATK goalkeeper had a difficult time catching some of the crosses, but was decent otherwise. He made an especially stunning save against Ferran Corominas, diving smartly to his left to keep out the Gaurs hitman. He made another decent save in the second half by parring out Manvir’s shot and helped ATK become the first side to keep out Goa this season.

Ankit Mukherjee- 6.0

Ankit found it difficult to contain the ever-mobile Brandon Fernandes and couldn’t neutralize his threat. He was better at defending crosses, but was outsmarted by his opponents on multiple occasions in the first half. However, he improved in the second half and did well to track back and stop attacks, making three blocks and a few crucial interceptions.

Ricky Lallawmawma- 7.0

The steady full-back gave another commendable showing in defence, keeping Jackichand Singh relatively quiet. After a scurring start in which he almost got found out on the right, Ricky dug his heels in and kept himself positioned intelligently to keep the right wing quiet. Lallawmawma didn’t let the Gaurs cause trouble through his side, making six clearances, three interceptions and blocks to clear danger on numerous occasions.

Pronay Halder- 6.0

Pronay was again a bit clumsy with his position and left some glaring gaps in ATK’s defence. His passing was astray on many occasions and despite looking more livelier than usual, he couldn't get anything going and made too many unnecessary fouls. Picked up another yellow card to continue a frustrating personal streak.

Jayesh Rane- 7.0

Jayesh proved why he’d earned his start ahead of Komal Thatal and looked dangerous on the right. He linked-up really well with captain Manuel Lanzarote and made a few surging runs into the box, with one of his whipped cross forcing a great save from Nawaz. Rane had a glorious chance to score, but his powerful attempt was expertly saved by the opposing keeper. Created quite a few clear chances in a bright performance.

Hitesh Sharma- 6.0

Hitesh earned his first start of the season ahead of the underperforming Balwant, but didn’t really improve over him. He was a frustrating player in the final third and despite getting in promising positions, couldn’t test the keeper. Sharma did make a decent run and pass before the half hour mark and dribbled past Seriton Fernandes impressively later on, but was underwhelming apart from that.

Substitutions

Komal Thatal- NA

Thatal made some bright movements on the final third after coming on, but couldn’t create anything concrete.

Balwant Singh- NA

Came on too late into the game to do anything.

FC Goa

Mohammad Nawaz- 7.0

The youngster had one of his better nights this season

Nawaz gave a much better showing than against Bengaluru and looked extremely alert between the sticks. He showed impressive confidence in catching ATK’s crosses and didn’t get bullied. Pulled off some clutch saves, especially keeping off Everton Santos’ blazing close-ranger to deny the home side. The 18-year-old showed steel in the second half, strongly saving Rane’s close-ranger. Earned his clean-sheet with an impressive showing.

Seriton Fernandes- 7.0

The confident right-back made a surging run forward in the early minutes and struck the side-netting with his vicious shot. Fernandes was a commanding figure on his wing, neutralizing Hitesh’s threat and keeping the youngster quiet. Was impressive going forward and with his distribution, acted pretty well as Goa’s right wing-back to trouble the home side.

Chinglensana Singh- 6.5

Chinglensana proved a much more reliable figure than Mohamed Ali and completely neutralized the underwhelming Santos. He tracked the opposition strikers’ movement really well and marked him out of the game. Made a few crunch tackles and interceptions, as well as stopping a counter-attack early in the second half. Proved why he needs to start more consistently.

Lenny Rodrigues- 7.5

Lenny was the Gaurs' midfield general once again with another commanding performance. He moved with vigour throughout the middle, seeking passes and distributing the ball well. The midfielder had a fantastic passing accuracy of 93% from 80+ passes and was a pivotal reason for Goa’s dominance. He won back the ball on important occasions to save them from trouble and sparked many attacks for the Gaurs.

Jackichand Singh- 5.5

Jacki started the game brightly, being involved in a blazing attack and passing it to Seriton, who struck the side-netting. However, he was quite invisible after that and was completely neutralized on the right. Substituted before the hour mark.

Brandon Fernandes- 6.5

Brandon proved to be the quintessential link in the final third, using his creativity to terrorize ATK. He created a chance early in the first half, sending Jacki and Seriton free on the right. He produced another terrific through-ball, sending Corominas free through the middle with his incisive pass. Brandon’s distribution and linking with the attackers was solid as well. Fernandes was an electric spark for Goa, but his swipes at goal, unfortunately, didn’t come to fruition.

Substitutions

Manvir Singh- 6.5

Manvir looked a terrorizing figure on the right after coming on for Jackichand. He created many problems for Ricky with his physicality, holding back defenders to ram his way into the box. Tested Arindam’s resolve with a powerful shot and was unlucky not to score.
