Both players will be looking to improve on their showings from the previous campaign.

The Indian transfer market is heating up as teams look to pick the right players for the upcoming season. Similarly, Kerala Blasters have bolstered their forward lineup by signing former NorthEast United striker Seiminlen Doungel.

The 24-year-old Manipuri forward was the only shining light in an otherwise lacklustre Highlanders outfit last season. The youngster scored a splendid hat-trick against eventual champions Chennaiyin FC. At Kerala, he can get better service from his teammates and will hope to score more goals in the coming Indian Super League (ISL) campaign.

Doungel has ample amount of experience having plied his trade in clubs like East Bengal, Shillong Lajong, Bengaluru FC, Delhi Dynamos and so on. He was so impressive for the Highlanders that he got his national call-up for the first time and national team coach Stephen Constantine was really pleased with what he had to offer.

The Blasters have been pretty proactive in the market as they are trying everything in their power to assemble the right combination and plug all the holes in the team. Their major scalp was when the southerners got hold of star defender Anas Edathodika. Shot-stoppers like Dheeraj Moirangthem and Naveen Kumar have also joined their ranks alongside local boy Jithin MS. So, Kerala Blasters look to be all set for the upcoming season and with the arrival of Doungel, things could get even more exciting.

With Doungel's arrival, Kerala Blasters had no other option but to let go of another wide man from Manipur, Jackichand Singh. The 26-year-old midfielder signed a contract with FC Goa and will be plying his trade for Sergio Lobera's side in the upcoming season.

Jackichand is not a new face in Indian football and his experience of playing iat various clubs like Royal Wahingdoh, East Bengal, FC Pune City and so on will come in handy. He adds much-needed energy to Lobera's side as the midfielder can tirelessly move up and down the flank, often bailing the defenders out of tight situations. His hardworking attitude and lightning pace will only add to Goa's firepower.

Jackichand started his ISL journey with Pune City in the second season before moving to their rivals Mumbai City. He was a crucial member for the Islanders as he contributed heavily to Mumbai City's success back in 2015.

He had a decent season with Kerala Blasters, scoring two goals and assisting three in 16 appearances he made last season. Jackichand will be joining local boy Lenny Rodrigues who joined the Gaurs from Bengaluru FC for the upcoming season only a few days ago.
