The Algerian reassured that he is committed to his current club despite being rotated.

Riyad Mahrez has clearly found it tough to secure a starting position in the star-studded Manchester City lineup, being overshadowed by the sensational Bernardo Silva on the right wing. However, the Algerian has expressed his contentment in performing a supporting role to the team and still believes in his own quality to deliver when given the chance by the gaffer, Pep Guardiola.

Speaking to the reporters, the former Leicester City man said, “It's not easy to come to a team who are settled and have the players who play. That squad did everything last season. I knew it wouldn't be easy in my first year but I'm very confident in myself and have no doubts about my quality.”

"I knew that, when I had my chance, I'd take it. I scored at Brighton and helped the team." said the two-time Premier League winner after scoring the third goal in the final fixture of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion in a 4-1 victory that ensured back-to-back league titles for the Cityzens.

A lot of talk around his future at the club has been doing the rounds, with many rumours suggesting that the 28-year-old is engineering a move away from Manchester in order to gather more playing minutes.

Responding to said rumours, Mahrez quashed any talk of a move out of the club by saying that, “I'm very happy here. I'm not going somewhere else because I don't play.

“It's part of the game. I need to be strong, stay strong. It's part of my personality. I never hide from things.” he concluded.

Riyad Mahrez became the most expensive signing by Manchester City when he moved from Leicester City back in 2018 for a fee in the region of £60 million. Although, his price tag has not fazed him and the lack of opportunities have not caused any harm to his confidence.

The last fixture of the season will see his side face Watford in the final of the F.A. Cup where Riyad Mahrez would be looking to make an impact if given the chance and secure an unprecedented domestic treble of trophies for Manchester City.
