Beaten some good teams away from home this year- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Red Devils' boss Solskjaer scored the Champions League winner in Camp Nou in 1999.
It will be quite the eventful trip for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who will be returning to the very ground he scored the winning goal at the dying moment of the final in 1999 which helped United win the Champions League with a dramatic comeback when his side travel to take on FC Barcelona in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the same competition.
Manchester United lost the first leg 1-0 courtesy of a Luke Shaw own goal. They had their fair moments of dominance in the game but could not manage a single shot on target. Barcelona, instead of pressing for another goal chose to contain United instead.
It goes without saying that United will need a statement performance in the second leg if they want to beat Messi and co and qualify for the last four. Ole has insisted that instead of drawing from the famous turnaround of ’99, his side will be looking for inspiration from more recent accomplishments.
United have achieved comebacks against Juventus and Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League this season already. They scored twice in the last five minutes to win 2-1 against Juventus in the group stage under Jose Mourinho and quite recently, overturned a 2-0 first leg loss against PSG in the last 16 which set up their quarter-final tie against Barcelona.
Asked if he will draw on his experience in 1999 to inspire his players, Solskjaer said: “No I won’t, because it was against Bayern, it was a final, it was different."
“We will use the PSG match, we will use the Juventus game away, because we’ve beaten some good teams away from home this year and played against some great players."
“We had Barcelona flustered at times [at Old Trafford] as well. Yes, they controlled the game towards the end, they had the possession, but they never really bothered us in our own half.”

United struggled to a 2-1 Premier League victory over West Ham on Saturday but Solskjaer is confident that a fresh side will have what it takes to overcome runaway LaLiga leaders in Barcelona.
“I rested a few [players against West Ham] to be ready for Tuesday, but we have a decent plan,” he added. “I hope it’s decent. It’s a plan, anyway. You look at the quality of those players and that gives us a threat.
“We carry a goal threat but, of course, what we did against Paris Saint-Germain as a team must give everyone a huge confidence boost.
“That experience was probably the best they’ve had for many years, and they’re probably dreaming about another one of them again at Camp Nou.”

"I'm not the type to think: 'This makes me proud.' I will feel the butterflies, I will be excited. I cannot wait to get going because it's the biggest stage. It's against the best club of the last 10 or 15 years. Since [Pep] Guardiola took over they have been absolutely brilliant."
