After a successful day at the Asian Games 2026, that saw India clinch two gold and cross the 50-medal mark, the contingent will return on Day 11 (September 30) hoping to further better that tally. India will have opportunities to medal in shooting, boxing, judo, wrestling and archery among others on Wednesday.
India’s action in athletics concluded on Tuesday on a high, with the women’s 4x400m relay team winning gold after a superb final burst from Vithya Ramraj.
Medals were also won in the mixed 4x100m relay and men’s 4x400m relay, while Gulveer Singh clinched his third medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Games, after bagging bronze in men’s 5000m to add to the twin silvers he won in men’s 10,000m and 1500m.

Gold also came in shooting, where Neeru Dhanda clinched India’s first-ever gold medal in women’s shotgun trap event, having already claimed silver in the women’s event.
Dhanda returns for the mixed team event in shotgun trap alongside Kynan Chenai and will eye a third medal. The men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event will see Anish Bhanwala in action.
In boxing, Lovlina Borgohain, Priya Ghanghas and Kapil Pokhariya will hope to win their semi-final bouts and join Ankush Panghal and Parveen Hooda in the gold medal bouts.

Lovlina, an Olympic bronze medallist, won silver in 2022 and also had to settle for the same in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. She will want to break the jinx and add a gold to her medal accolades in major events.
Meanwhile, the Indian women’s hockey team will face five-time winners South Korea in the semi-finals, eyeing not just gold but also a precious Olympic quota for LA 2028. India last won gold in women’s hockey in 1982, they have won a silver and two bronzes in the last three editions.
