A look back at India's performance at Asian Para Games 2022
India sent a 303-member contingent to compete across 17 different disciplines
India’s 4th Asian Para Games appearance concluded as the nation’s best-ever performance. India secured 108 medals, including 27 gold, 32 silver and 49 bronze to finish sixth on the medal tally. The competition took place in Hangzhou, China, having been postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
What made this performance even more special was that India crossed the 100-medal threshold for the first time in Asian Para Games history, comfortably surpassing its previous best of 72 medals set at the 2018 Jakarta Games.
The nation had initially finished fifth in the overall medal table, with a total of 111 medals [29 gold, 31 silver, 51 bronze]. However, Neeraj Yadav was stripped of his gold medals due to doping violations while some medals were reallocated, leaving India sixth with 108 medals.
On that note, let’s revisit India’s results across various disciplines from the Hangzhou edition.
