Animesh Kujur won gold in men’s 200m final at the 64th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2025 on Saturday, August 23. The event took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.

He clocked 20.63 seconds to rewrite his own meet record of 20.65 seconds, set during the previous edition of the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in Panchkula. Animesh also holds the national record of 20.32 seconds, which he registered during the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi earlier this year.

Local boy Ragul Kumar G won the silver medal with a time of 20.92 seconds, while Assam’s Amlan Borgohain clocked a time of 21.19 seconds to clinch the bronze medal in the men’s 200m final.

Eight players took the track on Saturday in the men’s 200m final at the 64th edition of the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships. Two each from Haryana and Odisha, while one athlete each from Tamil Nadu, Assam, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh qualified for the final.

Seven athletes started the race, while Sandeep Singh from Himachal Pradesh did not start the final.

The 64th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2025 is currently underway at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The event commenced on 20th August and will conclude on Sunday, August 24.
