Sudirman Cup 2023: Updated results and points standings
Top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage.
The BWF Sudirman Cup 2023, badminton world championships in mixed teams, will be held in Suzhou, People's Republic of China, from 14 to 21 May.
Suzhou was supposed to host the Sudirman Cup in 2021. However, the competition was postponed by two years. This year represents the 18th edition of the Sudirman Cup, which China, Korea and Indonesia have previously won.
The four-group, sixteen-nation format will be used for the second time, and the 16 teams have been divided into four groups of four teams each.
Teams and Groups
Group A: China, Denmark, Singapore, Egypt
Group B: Indonesia, Thailand, Germany, Canada
Group C: Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Australia
Group D: Japan, Republic of Korea, France, England
All groups will have two teams advance to the quarter-finals. Each draw has an aggregate of five matches, with all five matchups performed during the group rounds to break ties. Each tie in the knockout rounds is played as a best-of-five, with the first team reaching three match wins prevailing.
Every group's teams are organized as follows: Ties, head-to-head results amongst tied teams, total matches won minus total matches lost (match difference), total games gained minus total games lost (games difference), total points scored minus total points allowed (points difference).
