The Korean has already won four titles this year.

Korea's An Se Young has reached her eighth straight final after beating Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying in straight games in the Singapore Open 2023 women's singles semi-finals. The World No.2 and second seed will face Japan's Akane Yamaguchi, who is the top seed, in the final.

With her victory, An Se Young has also now reached seven consecutive finals in the BWF World Tour events in 2023. The 21-year-old defeated Tai Tzu Ying 21-16, 21-14 to reach the final of the Singapore Open 2023. En route to the final, she defeated compatriot Kim Ga Eun, home favourite Yeo Jia Min and Wang Zhi Yi in straight games.

She started her BWF World Tour campaign by reaching the finals of the Malaysia Open (Super 1000) followed by the India Open (Super 750), Indonesia Masters (Super 500), German Open (Super 300), All England Championships (Super 1000), Thailand Open (Super 500) and Singapore Open (Super 750). Apart from the BWF World Tour, the Korean also reached the finals of the Badminton Asia Championships 2023 where she lost to Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying 10-21,14-21.

An Se Young has shown a lot of consistency in the world tours having participated in seven tournaments and reaching the final of all tournaments that she has competed in. She has already won four titles this year and will now aim to win a fifth title when she meets WR 1 Akane Yamaguchi in the final of the Singapore Open 2023 on Sunday (May 11th, 2023).

The 21-year-old has already won 11 Super 500+ titles so far and would look to add another one to her kitty. With the form that she is in, An Se Young definitely has the chance of breaking Chen Yu Fei's record of winning seven titles in a calendar year.
