An Se Young won her fifth BWF tour title this season.
Singapore Open 2023 concluded on a eventful note with winners emerging out from five different countries. China's Chen Qing and Jia Yi Fan started the proceedings on the final day and emerged victorious in the women's doubles category defeating eighth seed Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee in straight games. Japan had three finalist in three categories but were able to mange only one win with men's doubles winning the match.
In the women's singles, top seed Akane Yamaguchi went down to second seed An Se Young in straight games (16-21, 14-21). The Korean 21-year-old has reached the finals of all the BWF Tour events this year and has claimed her fifth title after winning the Singapore Open (BWF 750) title. Akane Yamaguchi started the match well but looked out of sorts post the first mid-game interval. With this win, An Se Young is inching closer to attain the top spot in women's singles rankings.
Other winners
Danish mixed doubles pair, Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje clinched their maiden BWF 750 title and their second BWF tour title overall after defeating Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist from Japan Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino. Christiansen came back strongly in the third to win the title.
Antony Sinisuka Ginting got the better off WR 22 from Denmark Anders Antonsen in straight games (21-16, 21-13). In the final match, Takura Hoki and Yugo Kabayashi claimed the men's doubles title defeating Chinese pair Liang Wei Kang and Wang Chang. Hoki and Kabayashi survived a scare in the second game.
