Where and how to watch Australian Open 2023 live in Singapore?
The BWF Super 500 event began on August 1.
After the successful conclusion of the Japan Open 2023, all eyes of the badminton fraternity will now be on the newly promoted BWF Super 500 event, the Australian Open 2023. The Australian Open 2023 will be the sixth Super 500 event of the BWF World Tour 2023. Traditionally a tournament dominated by native players, the tournament has not seen an Australian win the title since 2009.
For Singapore, the 2021 World Champion, Loh Kean Yew, will be the only seeded player entering the Australian Open 2023. Seeded fourth, Loh Kean Yew has had a below-par season so far, and he will be hoping to start pushing his way into the top 16 of the men’s singles Road to Paris 2024 rankings.
And it will be fair to say that the Singaporean could have had a more difficult path to the finals of the Super 500 event then he has. He will be facing India’s Mithun Manjunath in the first round before perhaps playing the also struggling Lee Zii Jia. And if the Singaporean overcomes these two challenges, his next possible opponent would be one of the two Japanese or the seventh-seed Jonatan Christie from Indonesia.
