Where and how to watch Australian Open 2023 in Indonesia?
Men’s Doubles pair Berry Angriawan/Hardianto was the last pair to win the title back in 2018
After the successful conclusion of the Japan Open, all eyes of the badminton fraternity will now be on the newly promoted BWF Super 500 event, the Australian Open 2023. The Australian Open 2023 will be the sixth Super 500 event of the BWF World Tour 2023. Traditionally a tournament dominated by native players, the tournament has not seen an Australian win the title since 2009.
For Indonesia, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting enters the tournament as the top seed in the men’s singles competition. Jonatan Christie is the only other Indonesian seeded singles player participating in the tournament. Christie is the seventh seed in men’s singles.
However, doubles events are where the Indonesians find their joy the most. And they have as many as five pairs entering the tournament as seeded ones. The men’s doubles seeded players are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Adrianto (first-seed), Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (fifth-seed) and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin (sixth-seed). Whereas, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti (seventh-seed) and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati (seventh-seed) are the only seeded women’s doubles and mixed doubles pairs.
