PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen set to lead the Indian contingent

After a week's break the badminton action shifts to North America for the Canada Open (BWF 500) which is set to held in Markin-MacPhail Centre in Calgary. Former world junior silver medallist Lakshya Sen and two time Olympic champion PV Sindhu are set to lead the Indian contingent. Several top players have given the competition a miss; HS Prannoy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, and Gayatri/Jolly.

Lakshya Sen after a small break will look to get back to his best. His best performance came at the Singapore Open reaching the semi-finals. Like Lakshya, fourth seed PV Sindhu will look to regain lost form. She defeated Mariska Tunjung in the opening round at Indonesia but couldnt continue with the same form in the subsequent round.
