After several close match finishes the BWF World Championships 2023 is set for a fitting finale with players battling out to become the World Champion. The final day starts with the mixed doubles match featuring top seeds Zheng Si Wei and Huang Ya Qiong who will be up against fifth seed from Korea SEO Seung Jae and Chae Yu Jung.
The following match features three time gold medalist from China Chen Qing Chen partnering Jia Yi Fan. The pair did not face much difficulties in their path to the final and will be the favourites to clinch the title against eleventh seed Indonesian pairing of Apriyani Rahayu and Silva Ramadhanti.
In the men’s singles section, 2018 World Junior Championships gold medalist Kunlavut Vitidsarn will be up against fourth seed Kodai Naraoka. The former will be playing his second consecutive final after having lost to WR-1 Viktor Axelsen the previous time in 2022. Vitidsarn came back from behind to win against India’s number one HS Prannoy in three games in the semi-finals. On the other hand, Kodai Naraoka got the better off home favourite Anders Antonsen in straight games.
Rio Olympics gold medalist Carolina Marin has made a tremendous comeback to the international circuit and now will be up against in-form and title favourite An Se Young from South Korea. The latter thrashed reigning Olympics gold medallist Chen Yu Fei in straight game to progress for the final while Carolina Marin got the better of WR-2 Akane Yamaguchi quite comfortably.

Later in the day, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen will take on ninth seed Kang Min Hyuk and SEO Seung Jae. On the way to the final, the Denmark pair defeated WR-2 pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the quarter-finals and WR-3 pair Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang in the semi-finals. With the backing of home fans, Astrup and Skaaruup are the favourites to clinch the BWF World Championships title.
