Chen Long's career in numbers: Records, stats and titles

The Tokyo Olympics silver medalist retired shortly after the Summer Games.

China's Chen Long, along with Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei and compatriot Lin Dan, formed what could be seen as the badminton's equivalent of tennis's big three in the past two decades. The three have combined to win eight medals at the Summer Olympics in men's singles badminton. Chen Long has a superior head-to-head record against his compatriot Lin Dan, who is often called the greatest badminton player ever. 

However, Lee Chong Wei has got the better of the 2020 Summer Olympics silver medalist more times. Apart from the two others of the big three, Chen Long has had rivalries with the current World No. 1 in BWF men's singles rankings, Viktor Axelsen. The two have played against each other 20 times, and Chen Long has come out on top in 14 of those games. 

Apart from the three Olympics medals, Chen Long has won four World Championships medals and eight Asian Championships medals before retiring from the sport in 2021.
