The Japanese will be back into the top 50s in BWF world rankings next week.

Former world No. 1 Kento Momota secured a long-awaited win at the Korea Masters 2023, marking a triumphant return after a two-year hiatus from title victories. The final saw Momota facing Watanabe, who had defeated the number three seed Wang Tzu Wei in the semifinals and put up a strong challenge. Though Watanabe led briefly in the first game, Momota swiftly regained control, ultimately securing the victory in a commanding second game.

Expressing gratitude to fans and coaches for their support, Momota acknowledged the significance of this win, hailing it as his first title triumph in close to two years.
