Sindhu is currently recovering from a knee injury that has sidelined her for at least three months.
After weeks of speculations, PV Sindhu has finally disclosed that she has been training under the legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone at his academy in Paris. Taking to social media on Saturday (November 18), Sindhu confirmed the appointment of Prakash Padukone as her “mentor”. She also revealed that she has been training with him since the end of August.
“For those wondering and constantly asking me, the cat is finally out of the bag!! Prakash sir is assuming the role of the mentor in my setup. I started training with him at the end of August, and it’s been uphill ever since,” Sindhu wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
She further expressed how she views him as her guru and a trusted companion, who will surely help her bring out the best from her game. “He’s more than a mentor; he’s my guide, my guru, and, above all, a true friend. I wholeheartedly believe he possesses the magic to bring out the absolute best from my game. I am so grateful he reached out to me with one call when I was in Japan, and we’ve built on that connection exceptionally well.”
“Dear sir, I am pumped!! Looking forward to training with you! Let’s get to work”, she concluded with a subtle hint of eagerness, driven by the anticipation of attaining greater accomplishments in her professional journey.
Sindhu has recently been sidelined due to a knee injury sustained during the BWF French Open 2023. As a result, she has been placed under the protected rankings and is expected to be out of action for a minimum of three months.
