Seventeen-year-old, Anmol Kharb, climbed to world no. 255 following quarter-final finish at Kazakhstan International.

Anmol Kharb, 17, has continued to leap in the BWF world rankings. Kharb, who came into prominence after the Stellar Badminton Asia Team Championships tournament, ascended 78 spots to reach the 255th.

Anmol’s rise in the Badminton Rankings was propelled by her quarter-final appearance at the Kazakhstan International. This event was her debut at the Kazakhstan International Challenge, following her commendable showings at the Badminton Asia Team Championships.

She secured victories over Cassey Rynn Rompog and Malvika Bansod, creating a few surprises along the way. However, her journey was halted in the quarterfinals, where Japan’s Sorano Yoshikawa defeated her.

Kharb is a rising star in Indian badminton. She’s made a mark in the Junior categories. In 2022, she grabbed a silver at the Asian Junior Championships, and in 2023, she took home a bronze from the World Junior Championships.

Another women’s singles player, PV Sindhu, who has failed to win a single Individual tournament this year is currently placed 12th.

In the men’s Singles, Lakshya Sen, who jumped five places after his semi-final finishes in two back-to-back weeks at the French Open Super 750 and All England Open badminton championships, has maintained neutrality.
