The BWF Denmark Open 2024 is set to be flagged off in a day as over 307 shuttlers from around the world will be in action. The home favourite will be starting his campaign this time against Yushi Tanaka of Japan. Jonatan Christie will also be one of the players to watch out for and reached back to back finals at Hong Kong and China last month.

India’s Lakshya Sen will also be competing in the tournament after suffering a disappointing exit in the Arctic Open against Chou Tien Chen. He will be hoping for a much more favourable result this time in Denmark.

In the women’s singles, Paris Olympics champion An Se-young is the top seed in Denmark and is expected to make a winning comeback to the tour. Two-time champion, Akane Yamaguchi is eyeing her third title and will face Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min in the opening round. China Open winner Wang Zhi Yi will be joining compatriot and Arctic Open winner Han Yue as both players are in good form.

India’s attack in women’s singles will be led by PV Sindhu. The two-time Olympic medallist was knocked out in the opening round of Arctic Open by Canada’s Michelle Li. Sindhu is looking for redemption in Denmark.

The Indian squad is participating in four events in Denmark as the men’s doubles will again have no Indians competing. There are 13 Indians who have received direct entry into the main draw. There could be positive results for the Indian fans as there have been 3 winners in the past. Prakash Padukone won the men’s singles event in 1980 and Kidambi Srikanth followed pursuit in 2017.
