Satwik-Chirag triumphed over Kang Min Hyuk, Seo Seung Jae in stellar revenge match.

World No. 1 pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have made a spectacular entry into the men’s doubles finals of the French Open 2024, overcoming the reigning world champions, Kang Min Hyuk and Seo Seung Jae. The top-seeded Indian duo clinched a decisive victory with a scoreline of 21-13, 21-16 in a swift 40-minute match.

Moreover, the French Open 2024 finals mark the Indian pair’s fourth consecutive appearance in BWF World Tour finals, following their progression to the finals of the China Masters in 2023, and both the Malaysia Open and India Open in 2024. Known as the ‘Brothers of Destruction,’ they have also set a record as the first Indian players to surpass 100,000 points in the BWF rankings.

This victory serves as redemption for the Indian duo, who had previously faced defeat in the finals of the India Open 2024 at their home turf. Affectionately dubbed ‘SatChi,’ Rankireddy and Shetty are set for their third appearance in the finals of the BWF World Tour’s Super 750 series.

They previously won in 2022 and were runners-up in 2019. In the 2023 edition, they were eliminated in the second round by Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia, in a tightly contested match with scores of 23-25, 21-19, and 19-21.

They will now take on Chinese Taipei’s duo of Yang Po Han and Lu Ching Yao in the finals.
