Shi Yuqi and Chen Yufei will start the tournament as the defending champions.

Following the conclusion of the Singapore Open, the BWF Super 1000 tournament Indonesia Open 2025 is set to commence on June 3. Since it is a Super 1000 event, the competition boasts a prize pool of USD 1,450,000, attracting top badminton talent from around the world.

For the hosts, with Anthony Ginting still sidelined, the responsibility in men’s singles, falls on Jonatan Christie and promising youngster Alwi Farhan to lead the charge for the host nation.

Meanwhile, with Daniel Marthin and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri withdrawing, Indonesia’s hopes in men’s doubles now lie with Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Bagas Maulana/Leo Rolly Carnando.

In women’s singles, the withdrawal of Paris 2024 bronze medallist Gregoria Mariska Tunjung leaves Putri Kusuma Wardani and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi carrying the nation’s hopes.

Viktor Axelsen remains sidelined, leaving Anders Antonsen to lead Denmark’s challenge in men’s singles. Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn, seeded number #2, arrives in top form fresh from his Singapore Open Super 750 victory. On the women’s side, China’s Chen Yufei, who triumphed over Wang Zhiyi in the Singapore Open finals, aims to continue her winning momentum at the Indonesia Open.
