HS Prannoy marks his return post pre quarters exit at Paris Olympics 2024

India’s HS Prannoy will make his return to competitive badminton at the Malaysia Open 2025, marking his first appearance since the Paris 2024 Olympics. The tournament, which is a part of the BWF Super 1000 series, will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur from Tuesday.

Prannoy, currently ranked 26th in men’s singles, has not played since his round-of-16 loss to compatriot Lakshya Sen at the Paris Olympics. Sen, ranked 12th in the world, will also compete in the event, having recently won the Syed Modi International.

The tournament will feature several other prominent Indian players, including Priyanshu Rajawat, Chirag Shetty, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and top women’s players like Aakarshi Kashyap, Anupama Upadhyaya, and Malvika Bansod. The BWF Malaysia Open promises to be an exciting start to the 2025 BWF World Tour.
