The badminton spotlight turns to France this week with the Orleans Masters 2025 set to begin on March 4. Coming after the German Open, this Super 300 event on the BWF World Tour will be the first major tournament of March. The competition features a total prize pool of US$240,000.
Former All England champion Lee Zii Jia will headline the Orleans Masters 2025, entering the tournament as the top seed. The Malaysian star will face stiff competition from Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew, France’s Alex Lanier, and Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto, all aiming for the Super 300 crown.
In women’s singles, world No. #1 An Se-young leads the field, with Chen Yufei and Ratchanok Intanon among the key challengers. Meanwhile, defending champion Tomoka Miyazaki will look to retain her title.
The men’s doubles draw sees China’s Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang as top seeds, while Korea’s Baek Ha-na/Lee So-hee lead the women’s doubles field. In mixed doubles, Malaysia’s Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei enter as favourites.
