Upon the conclusion of the US Open 2025, the badminton spotlight now shifts to the Canada Open 2025, a BWF Super 300 event set to be held at the Markham Pan Am Centre in Ontario, Canada. In the women’s singles front, top seeds include Michelle Li, Nguyễn Thùy Linh, and Nozomi Okuhara, who headline a formidable pool of players. In mixed doubles, India’s Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto enter as favorites. Koki Watanabe (men’s singles) and Busanan Ongbamrungphan (women’s singles) are the defending champions. The tournament schedule starts with first-round matches on July 1–2, progressing through to the finals on July 6.

India has a strong representation, with Ayush Shetty, Kidambi Srikanth, Priyanshu Rajawat, and S. Sankar Muthusamy in men’s singles, and Tanya Hemanth, Shriyanshi Valishetti, and Ira Sharma in women’s singles.

Canadian star Brian Yang will shoulder the hopes of the home crowd, while Malaysia’s Justin Hoh and Eogene Ewe look to make a strong impression. With the perfect blend of experience and youth set to feature in this tournament, fans are in for yet another action-packed couple of weeks of badminton.
