​Australia entered the tournament as the defending champions and one of the favorites to win the FIBA Asia Cup 2025. They began the tournament with a 97-61 win over South Korea, followed by a 93-80 victory over Lebanon. 

The Boomers finished the league stage with an impressive 110-82 win over Qatar. With a first-place finish in Group A, they qualified for the quarterfinals. They beat the Philippines 84-60 to reach the top four. 

Iran’s performance at the FIBA Asia Cup 2025-

Iran, who had a fifth-place finish in 2022, were slotted in Group B in this edition. In their first fixture, they beat Guam convincingly with a scoreline of 77-52 and then secured a close 78-70 win over Japan. 

In their final fixture, Iran handed a shattering 82-43 loss to Syria. After finishing first, they confirmed their qualification for the top eight. They thrillingly defeated 78-75 to book a date with Australia in the semifinals.

Jaylin Galloway:

The talented forward, Jaylin Galloway, has earned the most points for Australia in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025. He has 69 points in four appearances, equating to 17.3 points per game. Meanwhile, he has averaged 3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. 

Galloway’s finest performance came against Qatar, where he tallied 24 points and shot 80% from the field. He is expected to lead the charge once again for the defending champions. 

Mohammad Amini:

Mohammad Amini is positioned ninth among players with the most points in the tournaments. He has garnered 71 points in four games (17.8 ppg) and also has 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
