This fixture will be India’s first away game before they return to Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Sunday for the reverse fixture.

Saudi Arabia’s recent performances

As the hosts, Saudi Arabia also participated in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025. With two wins in three group matches, they stood second in the group and qualified for the playoffs.

However, after a close 88-95 loss against the Philippines, they failed to progress to the next stages. Overall, they finished 10th in the standings with a 2-2 record.

India’s recent performances

Ahead of the Qualifiers, India participated in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, which took place in Jeddah. The Men in Blue sustained three successive losses and finished last in their group’s points table. Overall, they stood 15th among 16 teams.

Mohammed Alsuwailem

Alsuwailem was the finest performer in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup, as he topped the charts in rebounds (12.8), blocks (2.8) and overall efficiency (28.3) per game. Meanwhile, he secured 70 points in four games and stood 10th in this domain. Looking at his form, the 27-year-old will play a key role in dictating the result of the game.

Pranav Prince

With 35 points in three games, Prince led the statline for the Indian team in the FIBA Asia Cup. He also had 19 rebounds, 14 assists and an efficiency of 16.7, which was the best among all the players on the team. Hence, he is expected to be doing well for the side in the first group fixture against Saudi Arabia.
