What time will Neeraj Chopra's javelin final event start at Commonwealth Games 2026?

The CWG 2026 javelin throw qualification took place on Thursday
Neeraj Chopra kept his bid to recapture the Commonwealth Games men’s javelin title alive after qualifying for the Commonwealth Games 2026 final on July 30. The Gold Coast 2018 Games gold medallist secured a place in the top 12 athletes, finishing fifth in the qualifying round with a best throw of 79.61m.
Apart from Neeraj Chopra, two other Indian athletes also booked a place in the medal event. Rohit Yadav finished ninth in the qualifying round with a best throw of 78.73m. Yash Vir Singh finished with a best throw of 78.36m, clinching the 12th and final spot.

All three Indian javelin throwers will compete in the medal event, along with the other 9 best athletes from the qualifying round. Since none of the 18 participants in the qualifying round breached the automatic qualification mark of 84m, the 12 athletes with the best throws progressed to the next stage.
Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage topped the qualifying standings with a best throw of 82.84m. Grenada’s Anderson Peters (81.29m), South Africa’s Douw Smit (80.64m), and England’s Ben East (80.38m) completed the top four.
The other big names who will participate in the javelin throw final are Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem. He finished seventh with a season-best throw of 78.63m. Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott will also be competing. He finished 11th with 78.26m.
