Sakshi Chaudhary won her gold-medal bout in dominating fashion.
Sakshi Chaudhary was in complete control from the start of her bout to comfortably see off England’s Ruby White by a unanimous 5-0 verdict, bringing home gold in the women’s 51kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
She opened strongly, using her range and sharp jabs to frustrate White and take the first round 5-0. White found more joy in round two, landing a clean overhand right, but Sakshi’s superior footwork and body movement kept her ahead, and she edged that round 4-1 too. She closed things out with composure, never letting White back into the contest.

It’s a remarkable story behind the gold. The Bhiwani-born Army Havildar made a bold gamble earlier this year, dropping down from her usual 54kg to 51kg. She then beat two former world champions, Nikhat Zareen and Minakshi Hooda, to book her spot for the Glasgow Games.
That came on the back of a landmark 2025, when she became the first Indian woman to win gold at the World Boxing Cup in Astana.
From a farmer’s daughter in Haryana to a Commonwealth champion, Sakshi’s rapid rise is a testimony to India’s growing success in the boxing discipline.
