India roared on Day 9 of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Today we can proudly say India has the best boxers among the Commonwealth countries. Among the 14 weight categories in boxing, India played 10 finals and clinched 7 gold medals out of them. It was sheer dominance shown by our Indian boxers in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Following that, India also experienced some fantastic finishes in Athletics and Judo. Especially, the way our para athletes performed has been nothing short of outstanding. Today, Indian para athletes, Soman Rana and Shubham Juyal clinched a gold and a silver in Shot Put F57, with some magnificent execution out there.

Praveen Chithravel, Selva Prabhu Thirumaran, Gulveer Singh in Athletics and Unnati Sharma in Judo also made sure India gets more reason to smile today with more spectacular results they got in their games.

All in all, it was a historic day for India as we expected in the beginning of the day. At the end of Day 9, India stands in the fourth position of the medal tally with a total of 39 medals (13 GOLD, 17 SILVER, 9 BRONZE). Tomorrow will be another day at the Commonwealth Games and the Indian contingent will be looking to clinch more medals as the Friendly Games are moving towards its conclusion.

So, don't forget to tune in with us for the live coverage of Day 10 of the CWG 2026.
