The Indian athletics contingent will look to add to this tally on Day 8, with multiple medal events taking place. Tejaswin Shankar, who bravely overcame a knee injury during the men’s long jump event, is competing in the decathlon events, which culminate with the 1500m final on Friday.

Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage topped the qualification rounds and will be a strong medal contender. Meanwhile, Neeraj’s duel with Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem will be a highlight of the competition.
Neeraj will be joined by fellow Indian javelin throwers Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh, who will also vie for a podium finish.
