The first gold medal on Day 7 went to Samoan weightlifter Seine Stowers

The Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow featured 26 medal events on Day 7, across various disciplines such as athletics, para-athletics, 3×3 basketball and 3×3 wheelchair basketball, weightlifting, swimming and para-swimming.

After a successful Day 6, India added two more medals to their tally on Thursday, including one silver and one bronze. Seema Kaliramna won bronze in women’s discus throw, while fellow Indian Nidhi Rani finished fourth.

The country continued to enjoy success in weightlifting as Lovepreet Singh won silver in the men’s 110+ kg category.

While India’s medal haul was smaller on Day 7, it sets the stage for a massive Day 8 when several boxers will be contesting for a place in the gold medal match.

Updated Medal Tally after 30th July at Commonwealth Games 2026

Australia won seven medals on Day 7, marking their least successful day in this edition of the Commonwealth Games. They still are well ahead of the rest of the pack, boasting an incredible collection of 51 gold, 24 silver and 35 bronze medals.

England climbed to second place with 15 gold, 30 silver and 20 bronze medals (65 overall), overtaking Canada on the strength of their superior gold-medal tally despite Canada remaining close behind.

India slipped to 10th position, despite increasing its tally to three gold, 10 silver and four bronze medals (17 overall), as New Zealand and Jamaica moved ahead.

Fiji celebrated its first gold medal of the Games as Taniela Rainibogi claimed the men’s 110kg weightlifting title with Commonwealth Games records in both the clean and jerk and total. Bahamas also struck gold through Devynne Charlton in the women’s 100m hurdles.

Australia enjoyed yet another outstanding day across disciplines, winning the women’s 5000m through Rose Davies, who completed a historic 5000m-10,000m distance double. They also dominated the velodrome, taking gold in the women’s 4000m team pursuit, women’s C4-C5 individual pursuit and men’s team sprint.

England impressed in track cycling as the men’s 4000m team pursuit quartet stormed to gold in a Commonwealth Games record, while Emily Campbell retained her women’s +86kg weightlifting title.

Nigeria produced another memorable evening in athletics, with Chukwuebuka Enekwechi winning the men’s shot put title and former champion Tobi Amusan settling for bronze behind the Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton in the women’s 100m hurdles.

Jamaica’s Samantha Hall made history by securing her country’s first-ever Commonwealth Games discus throw gold.

Host nation Scotland’s Neil Fachie became his country’s most successful Commonwealth Games athlete after claiming a sixth career gold in the men’s tandem B 1000m time trial, while New Zealand’s Emma Foy triumphed in the women’s tandem B sprint.
