10 IPL teams and their brand values in 2023
Mumbai Indians have the highest brand value among all IPL teams in 2023.
Indian Premier League was introduced in 2008, just after the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa. And after a successful inaugural IPL season, it became one of its first franchise leagues to bring the best cricketers from across the globe to one place. Every year, it adds more value to it.
IPL has now become the biggest cricketing league in the world, and it is among the top sporting leagues in the world. All ten franchises have also enjoyed growth, and the league has seen a growth of 433 percent in its brand value since 2008 season. Here, we will talk about the brand value of all ten franchises in 2023.

10. Punjab Kings (45.3 million USD) :
Punjab Kings didn’t have a great season in 2023, and they ended up in 8th place. But despite that, the franchise had a pretty decent brand value of 45.3 million USD, or 377.5 crores INR. The franchise picked up some big names at the auction, which definitely helped them get more sponsors, which also helped them.
9. Lucknow Super Giants (47 million USD) :
Lucknow Super Giants made their debut in the 2022 season and have been part of two seasons so far. They have done a pretty decent job and made it to the playoffs in both seasons, which has helped them attract sponsors. Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG Group purchased this team in 2022 at a whopping price of INR 7,090 crores. Their current brand value in 2023 is 47 million USD, or INR 375 crores.
8. Sunrisers Hyderabad (48.2 million USD) :
Sunrisers Hyderbad made their IPL debut in 2013 and won their maiden title in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner. SRH have qualified for the playoffs in a few seasons, but their performance in 2023 was pretty bad. They finished at the bottom of the table. But despite that, their brand value is 48.2 million USD, or INR 401.6 crore.
7. Rajasthan Royals (62.5 million USD) :
The winners of the inaugural season, Rajasthan Royals, were the runner-ups of the 2022 season. But they couldn’t make it to the playoffs of the 2023 season and finished 5th. But the franchise has a large fanbase, which helped them sign some big deals. The current brand value of RR is 62.5 million USD, or INR 520.8 crore.
6. Delhi Capitals (64.1 million USD) :
After making it to the playoffs in a few consecutive seasons, Delhi Capitals had a poor season in 2023. They started with five consecutive loses and finished the table in ninth place. On the other hand, skipper Rishabh Pant missed the season due to a car accident. That has certainly affected their brand value. But despite that, DC’s current value in 2023 will be 64.1 million USD, or INR 534.2 crore.
5. Gujarat Titans (65.4 million USD) :
Despite making their debut in 2022, Gujarat Titans have certainly grown at a rapid pace. They won the title in their maiden season and ended as runners-up in 2023. Their consistent performance helped them get a lot of money from the sponsors. GT’s current brand value is at USD 65.4 million, or INR 545 crore.
4. Royal Challengers Bangalore (69.8 million USD) :
Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to the playoffs for three consecutive seasons. But they ended up in sixth place in 2023. But despite that, RCB are among the top teams that have a huge fanbase across the world, which is why most of the big brands want to tie up with the franchise. Their current value in 2023 is USD 69.8 million, or INR 581.7 crore.
3. Kolkata Knight Riders (78.6 million USD) :
The two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have a massive fan following around the world. But their performance in the last few seasons has declined a bit. However, there is no compromise when it comes to the brand value of the franchise. With the latest numbers, KKR have a brand value of USD 78.6 million, or INR 655 crore, in 2023.
2. Chennai Super Kings (80.6 million USD) :
Chennai Super Kings went on to win their fifth title in 2023 when they defeated Gujarat Titans in the finals of the season. CSK have now joint-most IPL championship titles, equal to MI. They are one of the biggest franchises in the cricket world at the moment. The brand value of CSK in 2023 is USD 80.6 million, or 671.7 crore.
1. Mumbai Indians (87.6 million USD) :
Mumbai Indians are probably the biggest franchise in the world, it is not because of IPL alone, it is because they also have a number of teams now in other franchise tournaments. That has certainly kicked up their brand value in 2023. That’s why they are sitting at the top of the chart. MI’s current brand value in 2023 is 87.6 million USD, or INR 730.5 crore.
